Internship Opportunities
SUMMER 2022 INTERNSHIP
The Diversity in Government Relations Coalition seeks to support the government affairs industry in increasing understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI); addressing gaps in diverse representation; and exploring the unintended consequences that result from policy and advocacy that lack diverse representation, voice, and perspective. We do this by creating an opportunity to demonstrate commitment through our pledge; collecting, analyzing, and reporting on data that inform; and planning events that allow for collaboration.
The summer internship offers total immersion into the operations of a growing organization with opportunities to work in all areas of the coalition, and closely with key coalition members, across three subcommittees: Communications, Survey & Data, and Governance & Fundraising.
Growth and exposure will not be limited, however, below you will find your primary contributions:
Supporting the increase in our online presence and helping gain visibility for the coalition. This may include:
Developing, curating, and publishing content for the DGR Coalition’s social media channels to generate positive brand awareness and online community engagement
Working closely with the Communications team to build a reputation for the DGR Coalition through strategic planning and content development
Analyzing and optimizing the performance of the DGR Coalition’s social media channels
Researching best practices for diversifying workplaces and track new trends to bring fresh ideas to the DGR Coalition’s online presence
Contributing to and maintaining an editorial calendar
Monitoring comments and messages on the DGR Coalition’s social media channels
Executing project management across multiple initiatives. This may include working cross-functionally with each subcommittee (Communications, Survey & Data, and Governance & Fundraising) to stay on top of deadlines and deliverables for major projects and campaigns by:
Managing timelines
Tracking tasks
Communicating progress
